What is a Botox?
Botox or Botulinum Toxin is used to relax the tensed muscles like the ones responsible of forehead and eye wrinkles giving a fresh and younger look.
Short description of the procedure
Botulinum toxin is injected at specific dosage in the tensed muscles, the results will start showing in 5-7 days and the results will be final in 14 days.
A touch up is done 2-4 weeks after the procedure (it is not medically advised to inject any treated muscle anytime during the period between 1 and 3 months after the procedure to avoid building resistance and future non response to the botulinum toxin).
The forehead and eye wrinkles are commonly treated areas. Botox can be used to treat some areas in the lower face like sad lines and smoker lines. It is also used to treat teeth grinding.
Nefertiti neck lift can be performed by injecting tensed neck muscles, which provides a younger looking lifted neck.
How long does the procedure last?
What about the recovery?
In general the recovery is smooth and rarely the patient may feel some discomfort or pain for few days.
Like any surgery, there are possible complications: bruising, asymmetries, eye ptosis.
